CivicActions Partners with Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AAMDSIF) for Drupal 10 Migration
Date: Friday, January 5, 2024
CivicActions is proud to announce its collaboration with the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AAMDSIF) to facilitate their migration from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10.
AAMDSIF is a nonprofit organization at the forefront of providing support to individuals and families affected by aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), and related bone marrow failure diseases. AAMDSIF provides answers, support, and hope to thousands of patients and their families around the world.
As passionate advocates of bringing an empathetic approach to healthcare, CivicActions is excited to support AAMDSIF to make their critical health information more accessible to patients and families.
The transition to Drupal 10 represents a strategic move to upgrade AAMDSIF’s digital infrastructure and ensure seamless access to vital resources by leveraging CivicActions’ 20 years of corporate experience in Drupal, an open source content management system. Daniel Mundra, Associate Director of Drupal at CivicActions with 13 years of experience in Drupal, will be leading this effort.
CivicActions has deep ties to the Drupal community, with nearly 200 Drupal Contributions since 2022 and a team consisting of several Acquia-certified Drupal developers, a Drupal Core Accessibility Maintainer, and a Drupal Core Initiative Coordinator. Their Drupal impact has been used to improve Drupal Core and the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS 2.0) through frequent contributions to modules and themes. Recent Drupal projects include work for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
This technically precise project for AAMDSIF will require highly detailed cross-linking and references, ultimately resulting in users having improved search functionality for the most up-to-date information, while simplifying website management for editors—thus allowing for an improved delivery of critical health information.
"We are excited to work with AAMDSIF in guiding this web platform upgrade using our expertise in Drupal," said Owen Barton, Chief Technology Officer, CivicActions. "This partnership perfectly aligns with our impact criteria, wherein we proactively select projects that reflect our values. Everyone at CivicActions is passionate about making a positive difference in the world, and our team is committed to supporting AAMDSIF in the critical work they are doing.”
