About Ero Gray
Ero joined CivicActions as Help Desk Support Manager in 2016, with the goal of bringing friendly and genuinely helpful customer support to government administrators and the citizens they serve. One of his current projects is to assist the educators and students of LINCS, an initiative of the U.S. Department of Education that expands and improves the practice of adult education.
Ero’s work is driven by a blend of staunch idealism tempered with a deep kindness and eagerness to serve his fellow humans. He is happiest when making technology work for the social good and listening to users in order to positively guide their experiences.
Before joining CivicActions, Ero led tech support at Idealist.org for four years, where he built a brilliant and efficient team to serve Idealist’s unique client base. Ero advocated strongly for usability, ensuring that real user experiences became the driving force behind new interfaces.
Ero has also provided IT support and direction for numerous nonprofits, including Community Resource Exchange and SafeSpace NYC. His desire to always be working towards a better world has led him to over ten years of experience at the intersection of technology and civic-minded customer service.
Ero holds a BA in Literature and Writing with a minor in Teaching from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He currently resides in a lively Portland neighborhood with his wife and bandmate of over a decade, where they enjoy making peculiar music and art. They love their house full of books and records but also spend time near trees and mountains whenever possible.
