CivicActions Named To “Top 50 Best Places to Work” in 2017 By Comparably

Comparably Badge 2017CivicActions earned the 13th spot on a list of small to midsize companies with the best culture and highest employee satisfaction ratings for 2017, published by the employee-review site Comparably.

Business Insider reports that Comparably analyzed its database of over 3 million anonymous employee ratings on 30,000 U.S. companies to come up with a series of year-end lists of overall team satisfaction in a variety of areas.

Team members who responded to the Comparably survey rated their satisfaction with items such as compensation, team meetings, interpersonal communications, CEO relatability, and more.

In conjunction with her work at CivicActions, Melinda has served in the project management and administration of Agile Government Leadership (AGL), a community of civic professionals promoting the use of agile methods in government. She also helps foster community engagement for the DKAN open data project.

Prior to joining CivicActions, Melinda was a freelance writer for a variety of clients in the civic tech space, including DotGov (providing mobile apps to governments), PageFreezer (providing website and social media archiving to agencies), and Urban Interactive Studio (providing outreach and engagement tools for public processes).

Melinda is currently living in an Airstream motorhome with her partner and three young kids, adventuring around the U.S.A. and seeking out as many trees and oceans as possible. She has a deep appreciation for avocados, her kids’ artwork, Instagram, clever science-y blogs with stick figure illustrations, and craft beer.
