Report from CiviCRM Test and Code Sprint

Ten developers came to the Big Apple earlier this week to sit with primary CiviCRM developers @lobo and @dgg during a two-day Usability, Test and Code Sprint. Once again, Rayogram hosted the event, providing a central location in Manhattan and an excellent working environment.

Drush Code Sprint Report

Six Drush developers met earlier this week for the first ever Drush sprint. I didn't keep notes of everything we worked on (I would have missed things anyway!), but I thought I would share what I remember. Among the great discussions:

Internationalization in Core Code Sprint: Day 1 Report Back

With over a dozen active participants and major progress on four significant patches, plus several smaller fixes, the first day of the Internationalization in Core virtual code sprint was nothing short of amazing! And if you want to join in, please do! We'll be in #drupal-i18n on IRC tomorrow (Wednesday) starting around 9:00 GMT and going until after midnight GMT. Never applied a patch before or checked out code from CVS? Don't worry, we can get you started. Here's a rundown of the day.

Media Sprint: Prototyping

A way to rapidly push development is to prototype your ideas. Aaron Winborn and I laid out the concept of how we wanted our media browser to work on a white board and then started thinking through our data model.

After a few fast revisions and chicken scratches on the board, I sat down to code. I had a shell of functionality that was close enough to some of our ideas from a document the media sprint group had worked on several months ago.
