Mark Lilly

To Mark, one of the amazing promises of the 21st Century is the ability we now have to be one world, and a million communities. Technology is one of the most liberating and democratizing forces out there, enabling knowledge to spread across the globe instantly, giving rise to uncountable local initiatives that never were possible before. Helping people meet their real needs and solve real-world problems is Mark's passion not only with software, open source in particular, but his work outside of CivicActions.

Mark is the founder of Street Yoga, an internationally recognized non-profit that has provided free yoga, meditation and mindfulness classes to under-served youth and families since 2002. Communities are no longer confined to neighborhoods -- where of course they're always welcome -- but now they're free to span the planet, linking people together and empowering individuals to make their own lives better.

At CivicActions, Mark continues to help non-profits build tighter communities, cultivate and share knowledge, deepen expertise and commit more deeply to bringing mission and service to life. He has expertise in Drupal, PHP, CiviCRM with a fondness for python, Ruby (and Ruby on Rails), and Java. Away from work Mark dotes on his three children, Felix, Hanna and Saskia, and is grateful for the support of his loving wife Tina. He is also finishing a book recounting the summer not too long ago when his son tumbled out of a tree and suffered a great fall, from which he has wondrously recovered.
