Certified ScrumMaster BadgeJ Pasila joined CivicActions as a Project Manager in September 2007. Among other projects, she has worked with us on Witness, the Lambent Foundation and the Center for Civic Media at MIT. In her current role as Account Manager, she consults with client teams to ensure their full satisfaction with project development. She also co-works with peers and client partners in the field of social justice to develop strategies to meet their goals through the most efficient and economical means.

Before joining the CivicActions team, J worked as a freelance art director focusing on clients in the fields of culture, education and healthcare. She consults for a number of LGBTQ organizations in NYC and is a volunteer with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Greenbridge program. She is a certified Brooklyn Urban Gardener (b.u.g) through the BBG and a Citizen Pruner through TreesNY.

J is a visual artist working in the mediums of photography/installation, and drawing. She graduated from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and earned her MFA in the Department of Architecture and Department of Video at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf, Germany. Her work is shown in NYC and abroad and she is a fellow of the Macdowell Colony, among others. After living in Amsterdam, NL for seven years and in the woods of Western Mass, she is happy to call Brooklyn home.
