Evolver.net
After the successful launch of RealitySandwich.com in 2007, the editorial team behind that project came back to CivicActions with a plan for a site that added more social networking functionality and user generated content -- Evolver. Evolver is a social network for conscious collaboration. It provides a platform for individuals, communities, and organizations to discover and share the new tools, initiatives, and ideas that will improve our lives and change the world. Evolver promotes sexy sustainability, yoga glamour, and shaman chic.
As with RealitySandwich.com, the project was a collaboration between the RealitySandwich/Evolver team (Ken Jordan, Daniel Pinchbeck and Dan Robinson) and visual designer Michael Robinson of Nowhere. Built on Drupal 5, Evolver makes extensive use of Panels and views for displaying various types of content (editorial blogs, user blogs, events and news,) Organic Groups and CCK. The site also employs voting API and the Vote Up/Down module for a social news section while Content Profile and CCK let users create profiles.
Doug Green lead the technical team that included Application Specialist Gregory Heller and Themer Jared Stoneberg. After completing the build out and integrating aspects of the Evolver.net site with the RealitySandwich.com property, we handed over management and ongoing development to the Evolver.net team.
