Consensus Building Institute
When The Concensus Building Institute came to CivicActions they had an old and difficult to maintain website that was not built with a content management system. As a result new content was not easily published to the site, and it did not reflect the dynamic and impactul organization they are. CivicActions worked with design direction provided by the client's visual designer to develop a robust Drupal powered website that showcases CBI's practitioners, areas of expertise, work with clients and case studies. The site, built with Drupal 5, makes heavy use of the Views module, Panels, and CCK. The primary navigation menu uses the Nice Menus module to enable drop down navigation.
Each of CBI's practitioners provide certain services and also serve a particular client sector (business, government, international clients, or NGOs) Node relation fields and Drupal's taxonomy system is used to create relationships between clients with the services they received and the sector they belong to, practitioners with the services they provide and sectors they serve. Each sector has its own landing page, created with Panels, that pulls together a variety of content related to that sector.
Alex Scott developed the CBI theme based on the designs provided by Hadley Soffe of Nightscape Design. Gregory Heller worked with the client to determine project requirements and configure Drupal to meet them. Additional engineering support was provided by Tech Lead Doug Green.
