CapacityPlus

CapacityPlus

Fenton Communications approached us for development support on the CapacityPlus.org site they were in the process of designing. We felt immediate alignment with Fenton, given their mission "…(to) serve the public interest by creating powerful issue campaigns that make change." Fenton's clients have contributed to some of the defining change movements of the past quarter century, from ending apartheid and curbing global warming to protecting people from harmful toxins. CivicActions was thrilled to support the goals of their client, CapacityPlus, the USAID-funded global project uniquely focused on the health workforce needed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.

Kara Masi, Web Producer at Fenton, provided beautiful, classicly-contemporary, design files. To meet our budget and timeline, our engineers worked together to find the most elegant solutions using what Drupal provides "out-of-the-box.. The project had a fairly aggressive schedule and several product owners, so to accommodate, we worked agilely, in a series of tight development sprints followed by periods of review by the Fenton and CapacityPlus teams. This allowed tasks to be prioritized and moved ahead to upcoming sprints as further inputs/refinements were required. Once we had the look of the site and most content in place we were able to focus on the features such as slideshows (created in Drupal's Views module) and the dynamic tab structures on the homepage (created using Panels modules). The result is a compelling, informative and user friendly site, and what we hope is the first of many partnerships with our counterparts at Fenton.
