Association of Governing Boards of Colleges and Universities
The Association of Governing Boards of Colleges and Universities (AGB) came to us with a partially built Drupal website that had been languishing. They needed to get the site completed and launched as soon as possible so they could migrate away from a proprietary system.
The new website needed to serve as a hub of information for AGB members and prospective members, including conference and workshop details, AGB's publications including its bi-monthly magazine, Trusteeship. Publications and membership are sold through a third party system, Avectra. Tech Lead Stella Power, with support from Engineer Team Leader Owen Barton, developed a custom module to integrate with the Avectra system through the netFORUM, netFORUM Authentication modules. While publications are listed on the Drupal 6 website, all purchases take place through Avectra.
Some of the articles in Trusteeship (also a print publication) are available only to members, while others are freely available, but all articles needed to be listed on the website. Application Specialist Gregory Heller developed a plan to use CCK Content Permissions to create access controlled fields so each article node could have a member's only body and a body for non members, as well as other fields displayed based on membership.
The client provided CivicActions with a visual design that Themer Alex Scott executed using the Zen base theme. Panels3 and views allowed for flexible configuration of content displays and theming.
The CivicActions team was deftly lead by Project Manager Justine Hirsch. From start to finish the project took 4 weeks meeting the client's deadline.
