Fenton Communications approached us for development support on the CapacityPlus.org site they were in the process of designing. We felt immediate alignment with Fenton, given their mission "…(to) serve the public interest by creating powerful issue campaigns that make change." Fenton's clients have contributed to some of the defining change movements of the past quarter century, from ending apartheid and curbing global warming to protecting people from harmful toxins.

Nutritional Research Project

One way the NHA fulfills this mission to educate and empower individuals to understand that health results from healthful living, is by supporting research on how nutrition affects health. The Nutritional Research Project has been created for this purpose.

Good Food Strategies

Over a series of training sessions and periodic consulting we have worked with Good Food Strategies to develop social media strategies involving Twitter, a listening program using Google Reader that feeds into a weekly news headlines communication for the organizations stakeholders and clients. Gregory Heller continues to provide expert consulting to support Good Food Strategies' team in their important mission to promote good food policies at the local, state and national level.

Women's Economic Security Campaign

The Women's Economic Security Campaign is a shared project between The Women's Funding Network, Chicago Foundation for Women, Women's Foundation of California and Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis. The goal of the campaign is to use the power of women's funds to increase economic opportunities for women and their families. Investing in women-led solutions and policy education, the collaboration emphasizes lasting solutions to bring women out of poverty.

Me Not Meth

MeNotMeth.org is part of an $11-million California state campaign of billboards, bus wraps, cable TV ads and the website aimed at discouraging gay men from using methamphetamine. A statewide survey recently found that crystal meth use was 11 times more common among gay men than in the California population overall.

WhereItsAtNYC.org

Where It's At NYC is another great example of a mostly "out-of-the box" drupal implementation. The defining characteristic of the site's implemention is its principal navigation structure based on a large (200+ term) taxonomy written in the form of first person "I" statements like "I need emergency housing services", "I have questions about STI's HIV, AIDS and other related issues". These statements are organized into five "domains"--education, employment, health, housing, and social--reflecting the broadest categorization of the social service resources listed on the site.

Center For Reproductive Rights

Project URL:
http://reproductiverights.org

When the Center For Reproductive Rights approached us about redesigning their website, ReproductiveRights.org, it consisted of hand coded and maintained HTML. While filled with a vast array of resources - almost 3000 in total, including books, reports, briefings, fact sheets and litigation documents, these resources were very difficult to locate, and the site was increasingly difficult to maintain.

We Can Do Better

We Can Do Better is a web-portal created for the Archimedes Movement as a tool to help them activate a growing grassroots community of people working to reform the Oregon State health care system. The website provides the Archimedes Movement staff with a way to stay in touch with activists, share information, and organize members for strategic activities.
