Marketing Manager

We're looking for an experienced, full-time Marketing Manager. This role will be responsible for promoting the CivicActions brand in the nonprofit, philanthropy and socially responsible business communities. The primary focus of this position is lead generation for our Sales team and ensuring that we are telling the story of CivicActions as a trusted and effective technology leader.
What you need to bring to the game:
- Minimum of a 4 year degree in marketing or communications.
- A minimum of five years of experience in business-to-business marketing (ideally professional services).
- A solid understanding of marketing strategy and tactics, branding and activation.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in social media marketing.A passion for web technology and the possibility it presents for social progress
- Results-driven self-direction: you must be able to generate results in a remote-team environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and writing skills
- Analytical skills: you get excited about and have a real skill for gathering and interpreting data. You dig into the data to understand our clients and their behavior.
- You have a "test, measure, and improve" approach to everything you do.
- Unstructured problems or chaotic situations are exciting challenges for you because you enjoy creative, proactive problem solving.
Nice to Haves:
- Nonprofit experience (either as a Board member and/or communications professional)
- Experience working remotely
- Experience working with Open Source technology in general, and Drupal specifically
What we’ll ask you to do with it:
Externally:
- Develop marketing strategies to deliver new leads consistent with our positioning strategy
- Design, implement and improve marketing programs efficiency and effectiveness
- Plan and drive PR & marketing activities
- Market research
- Client surveys
- Coordination of marketing events/sponsorships
- Write and review website content
- Manage and maintain CivicActions social media presence
- Manage industry and trade association memberships, CivicActions profiles on outside sites
- Liaise with vendors, other Drupal shops
Internally:
- Budgeting & reporting
- Liase with sales team
- Coordinate design of “schwag,” print materials, etc.
- Analyze web stats for CivicActions.com
- Media & blogging outreach
- Monitor Drupal user groups
- Monitor events where clients are
- Coaching and cross-training team members
- Group management
- Strategy & analysis, planning group initiatives
