Eye Tracking

I had a conversation earlier this week with Mindy Herman, and I mentioned that one of our clients had done eyetracking on some visual designs for their site, and she was fascinated by the technology. I decided that I'd poke around and see what it would cost to purchase an eye tracking system, and came across the Tobii 1750. It appears to cost around US25k - perhaps a little expensive for the amount of usability work that we do at this point... BTW, does anyone know of any free software folks working on anything like this? We'd be open to supporting it if anyone can point us there. For those who haven't seen what this stuff does....check out this heat map which shows where people look on a google search result page. It's extremely cool. I can't wait to begin to apply this level of analysis to the Drupal admin system;)
