Pod Sprints Are Coming! Pod Sprints Are Coming!

I'm really excited to share that two major client projects are having in-person Pod Sprints this month in New York. Part of our internal restructuring has been organizing into dedicated teams we call "Pods".  These teams work on one or two client projects at a time, which we think is going to hold innumerable benefits to clients, team members and our company as a whole.

At CivicActions, we have a tradition of getting the entire team together for in-person meetings, and over the years this has lead us to gathering in places like Amsterdam, Barcelona, the Napa Valley, New Orleans and Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Last year's economic contractions forced us to put this practice on hold, which was sad for us.  We really love being together, especially in interesting places that support deepening our connections as a team, sharing knowledge and best practices.

While the economy as a whole hasn't changed that much, our efficiency (and our revenue) has, which is allowing us some flexibility to hold smaller, more-focused-on-client-work team sprints.  As I mentioned in our last post, we really believe working remotely (or telecommuting) is incredibly valuable to both the planet and our clients by having really satisfied and passionate people working for them.  We also believe that as humans, we want to create connection.  So we'll be doing more in-person work with clients in the year to come, as well.

I'm really hopeful people will post pics of the Pod Sprints on the Flickr feed and share their insights and learning so we can iterate and improve the Pod Sprint "process."

Share it!

im very excited to see this!!!
