The Iterative Drupal Song v.1.1 (DCSF Version)

Within the next few hours, many members of the CivicActions team will start making their way from various parts of the planet to converge (along with pretty darn close to THREE THOUSAND other Drupalistas, Drupallers, Drupalgeeks, GeeksForGood, Drupalheads, Drupal enthusiasts and just about every other version of Drupalhuman you can imagine.) in the beautiful city of San Francisco to share what we've learned in the last year about working with this, dare I say, platform.

I started thinking about all this and start getting really psyched to be leaving Nashville to return "home" to the Bay Area for a week of Drupaling, visiting family and friends and connecting with the CivicActions team.

In my excitement, I grabbed my guitar (as I often do when I feel welled up with some kind of feeling) and iterated a song I debuted at the Seattle DUG a year or so ago. Flipped on the isight and banged out "The Iterative Drupal Song v1.1 (DCSF Version)."   Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Thanks for this lovely song.  I love the words. It's a wonderful piece.

Dude, I totally met you at the booth last week, but my brain never made the connection - thanks for the song!

We used a clip in our most recent Podcast - which we put out pre-DrupalCon.

Thanks for asking.  I'll try to remember to do this with future iterations, too.  I'll also try to create/post an mp3 version.

You got a website you need

To easily maintain

You want the functionality but not the pain,

You got Drupal

Oh Thank God you got Drupal, Mhm.

Open Source and the license is free

Built and maintained by community

You got Drupal...

You got features and bugs

Patches and queues

You got more modules than you ever could use

CHORUS

You got panels and views, and CCK

you got organic groups and now ya

got A...quia

CHORUS

You got three thousand plus or minus estimated people

who'd Drive or fly or ride a bike or take a bus or walk just to talk about Drupal

We got Drupalcon

Oh thank god we got DrupalCon, mhm.

Open source and the license is free built and maintained by community

you got Drupalcon

Hi Ian, so amusing! Could you post here the lyrics? Thanks!

Great job Ian, any chance of getting a clean MP3 version? And for those who what to run a dif against v1.0, check it out.  You can also compare with the original beta version recorded live at the Seattle Drupal User Group meeting in February 2009.

This is awesome!  I love your music Ian.  And I'm really looking forward to catching up at DrupalCon!  :)
